This cannot be allowed.

Big Barnardo's is the Sistine Chapel of charity shops. Such a loss would immeasurably damage the vibrant and unique character of Fallowfield, leaving an gaping wound in both the community and our hearts. This bastion of hope and affordability must be preserved in the interest of social, cultural, and historical significance.   

Over the years, Big Barnardo's has cemented itself as cornerstone of South Manchester. If The Friendship is the (presently dormant) beating heart of Fallowfield, then Barnardo's is the pancreas- giving us something sweet when we need it the most. 

In the year of Our Lord 2021, ravaged by a pandemic exacerbated by the dilatory and wildly ineffectual measures of our supposed leaders, a charity shop can be a grain of comfort in an uncomfortable world. In this sense Big Barnardo's is a silo. We have suffered many great losses since the onset of this particular phase of our dystopia that we now begrudgingly inhabit. Don't let this ray of light be one of them.
