Manatee Residents and Friends Against a Bridge Street Hotel

Manatee Residents and Friends Against a Bridge Street Hotel
The Issue
Friends and Residents of Manatee County are against the construction of a 103-room hotel at the beginning of Bridge Street. Already a traffic nightmare, an addition of a large hotel on a busy intersection would only increase the volume of traffic on Gulf Drive North and Bridge Street. Bridge Street is of historic value and provides many retail and dining options to residents and visitors alike.
Bridge Street is one of the only main business districts on Anna Maria Island. Home to ice cream shops, popular restaurants, and viable leisure and shopping amenities Bridge Street is a unique place on the island. A hotel of this magnitude may change the character of Bridge Street, which many people are worried about. A better use for the space would be restaurants, shops, a park, or maybe even parking solutions. It is important that city and county leaders take our viable concerns into account with the planning of this large hotel.
Please sign this petition to let city and county leaders understand we Manatee County residents and visitors do not support a hotel on Bridge Street. Traffic at this intersection is already challenging and Bridge Street holds historic value on Anna Maria Island. We the people conclude that Bridge Street should remain the way it is, and we the public deserve input on developments that effect our community.
Please contact Bradenton Beach City Leaders and Manatee County Commissioners to let them know you do not support this development.
