For 49 years, our club has proudly served the local community, including almost 15 years at Dovecot MAC. Today, that future is under threat.

Last week, we were informed of a proposed 100% increase in our hall hire fees at Dovecot MAC, taking our venue costs to a minimum of £2,000 per month. Since then, we have been working tirelessly to find a solution.

We are deeply disappointed and shocked that a charity whose purpose is to support the local community would impose increases of this magnitude on a long-established community organisation.

As a community club serving one of Liverpool's most deprived areas, we simply cannot absorb costs of this scale, nor do we believe it would be fair to pass them on to our members and local families.

Despite our efforts and an offer to accept a 30% increase, we have been informed that the lowest increase Alt Valley Community Trust are prepared to accept is 50% with immediate effect, rising to 100% from January 2027.

This increase puts the future of our club at serious risk. For nearly five decades, we have provided an affordable and welcoming environment for local children, young people, and adults, and we are determined to continue doing so.
