HELP ME SAVE AND PROTECT OUR BELOVED MOSTA: SAY NO TO DEVELOPING VILLA GOLLCHER!

The Issue

"Mosta is well known among locals for being a central town with a village feel. Thousands flock here every year to catch a glimpse of the towering Mosta Dome or Rotunda, as it is also known, and it’s also celebrated for the green lungs – both public, and private – interspersed between it’s built up areas.

Apart from the public countryside spaces serving as great leisure spots, the locality’s green areas help keep the air in the otherwise bustling town clean, making them increasingly important as our streets get busier."

Well said Sarah Micallef.

Losing significant sites like Villa Gollcher and Villa Grech Mifsud is leading to a loss of our heritage and true identity.  Whilst it is understandable that a certain amount of development is necessary, not to the extent of this exaggerated blindfolded rate; and at the expence of distructing and sacrificing prestigious sites, buildings and the little greenery that we have left in our beloved hometowns.

One person will not be heard, maybe a few neither.  But I am hopeful that if we get all together and make our voices heard, we will have a good shot at saving these gems and prevent them from becoming only imprints of our memories and a part of history.
