Dear supporters
A huge thank you to all of you who sent messages of support for the National Justice Project and our latest Copwatch project - it keeps our small team working hard around the clock to deliver justice for our clients here and in offshore camps!
It has been a big week for us. We have had to respond to yet another bungle by Border Force which wrongfully on Christmas Island. It seems to be a return of the cowboy culture in Border Force that saw my clients Cornelia Rau ans Vivien Salon locked up in the height of the Howard years.
Like our work with Refugees, our work helping Aboriginal people to get justice is generating anger and resistance. Over the past week, the National Justice Project has received torrents of racially motivated abuse for undertaking this campaign to help Aboriginal children to understand their rights and to empower their communities by training them on how to safely capture racism and harassment on camera.
We live in an age where authorities, (Peter Dutton) seek unrestrained power and do not want to be accountable or transparent. Yet we all know accountability is the bedrock of any healthy democracy. Aboriginal communities want and need to be able to stand up for themselves in safe ways and to be able to demand authorities in their communities be accountable. Together we support them to get this accountability:

Local communities we are consulting with are excited for this project - and these communities are best placed to identify the injustices they face and to capture them - together we can amplify their voices. Together we can help them to keep their streets safe.
Shaun Harris the uncle of Ms Dhu who needlessly died in custody for unpaid fines is working with Copwatch. He says:
"People need to see what this racial profiling looks like on camera - I bet if you saw it on camera - you would feel sick. This racism is making Aboriginal peoples sick and it's killing them in custody and reducing their life spent with loved ones."
You've supported the National Justice Project to help Abyan get proper medical care and treatment and we've made the department of immigration bring two other pregnant women on Nauru to safety here in Australia.
Now I'm asking you to stand with us and stand with Aboriginal communities Aboriginal communities by donating to our 'Copwatch' project - we can only do this with your support. It will ensure that we can travel to remote communities to train them on legal rights and media techniques.
Your support will send an important message to Aboriginal communities that they are not forgotten, and that together we support them in their desire to end the injustice they face everyday at the hands of authorities.

Once again, thanks for all the messages of support so far. We quite simply, cannot carry out this front line human rights work without out your support and encouragement. Please keep sharing the campaign.
Yours sincerely
