Dear supporters This is an update on our vital human rights work at the National Justice Project. Thankfully the last of my clients who experienced horrendous sexual assaults on Nauru are now safe in the Australian community as of last month. A lot of work behind the scenes made this possible. We have also taken Minister Dutton to court multiple times this year, to keep pregnant women safe, and to have successfully prevented the snatching of Refugee's mobile phone in detention camps, Their only means to staying in touch with loved ones. Next month we are in court for a Refugee client who is barely a metre tall - he has dwarfism - and has spent the past 4 years in the Manus camp. But now I'm reaching out to you to help peoples who are displaced in our very own country- First Nations peoples. They need our support. Over-policing and harassment is what Aboriginal mums, dads and kids face everyday. Australian prisons are over-populated with Aboriginal families - many for such low level crime (unpaid fines), punished for things mainstream communities simply would not be. It has to stop and can stop. But we need your support.
