MP’s are chosen and voted into office by the voting public because of their political ideology, supporting a particular political party and coalition. If they decide to switch allegiance to join another party or alliance midway through their service, the Parliamentary seat they occupy should be made vacant and fresh local elections must be held for a renewed mandate. Party hopping can also lead to corruptible MPs as Parliament seats could be an object of commodity, create questionable loyalty and/or tradeable allegiance for gratification.

Party hopping must be made illegal,  criminal and punishable by castration.
