Warren County, Kentucky. On Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, the sheriff’s department was called in to check on a severely injured puppy. The puppy was found with severe injuries to the head, neck and body. It appeared the dog had been pulled by a chain behind a vehicle.
He was taken to Greystone Pet Hospital where they tended to his wounds, sedated him and bandaged him up. He suffered from shock, hypothermia and lost about 30 percent of the skin covering his body.
The 6-8 month puppy is now known as Malachi, named by his rescuers.
On Monday Jan. 24th, 2012. Shane Helson was arrested after arriving at Greystone Pet Hospital wanting to see his dog. He was accused of allegedly dragging Malachi behind his truck and charged with Class D felony, torturing dog or cat.
No dog should ever have to go through this abuse at the hands of ANYONE and even less, from their owner. Malachi’s tragic story has pierced through the hearts of animal lovers everywhere.
