What would I do without this beautiful ballad? I don't know. The intricate arrangements, heartfelt lyrics, and powerful vocals... Make for the perfect Winger song. I remember when I first heard this magnificent piece, I couldn't listen to it for MONTHS, because like no other song before, it gave me a physical pain and sadness in my heart. I yearn for this song to be played in all its glory live, as it deserves. This song is the product of everything Winger does best. Sad lyricism, terrific vocals, guitar duelology, striking keyboards, monstrous drums, and the always perfect Kip Winger bassline, that in the case of this song, feels like a tender, warm hug from your grandma on a rainy day. This song is everything I aspire to be. Someone with a soft, gentle aura but a powerful story and message to spread. This song brings me every emotion right when I need it. Sadness on a sad day, happiness on a happy day, anger on a day filled with infuriation...l am a changed, better, and new person in this world and I can accredit that to this song and this song only. I would like to extend my deepest thanks and gratitude to Kip Winger, Reb Beach, Paul Taylor, and Rod Morgenstein for such a tremendous, outstanding performance. How this song wasn't put on In the Heart of the Young I don't know. But one thing I do know? This is the single greatest Winger song ever composed and one of the greatest records of the 20th century, very possibly of all time. Another thing I know? I am most certainly not wrong. And so help me god I will die on this hill. Some of you make think differently but deep down inside you know i'm right and that you agree with me.
