Issue:  Affordable parking access for UCSB students

Purpose: Parking at the University of California, Santa Barbara has become a challenge for many students, especially those who commute to campus. Many students live farther away from campus because housing costs in Isla Vista and the surrounding Santa Barbara area can be expensive. As a result, commuting students often rely on parking to attend class, participate in campus activities, and access university resources. 

However, the high cost of parking permits creates an additional financial burden for many students. This petition aims to encourage UCSB to consider more affordable parking options and better support students who rely on parking to access campus. 

Target Audience:  This petition is aimed at UCSB Transportation and Parking Services, UCSB Administrators, and members of the UCSB community who have the ability to support and create changes to the student parking policies.
