Thank you so much — we’ve now passed 22,500 signatures, and the message is being heard across the country.
I’ve been working full time while campaigning for fairer train ticketing for NHS staff, and I wanted to share what this really looks like in practice.
I pay £198.40 for an 8-day flexi season ticket. That’s £24.80 per day. A peak return is £28.30. If I work a night shift, I pay two singles — because day tickets expire at 4am, not 24 hours after use.
This means I lose money just for going to work — especially when Railcards don’t apply to season tickets.
NHS workers — and other shift workers — shouldn’t have to:
- Buy two tickets for one shift
- Spend hours calculating fares based on rotas
- Accept full fares while others get discounts
📣 What we need:
Day tickets valid for 24 hours, not expiring at 4am
Railcards that apply to season tickets, not just leisure travel

📎 This campaign will keep pushing — and your shares make the difference.
Thank you for standing with me.
