Hi everyone,

I’m overwhelmed (in the best way) by how fast this campaign has grown. Over 23,000 people have signed — because we all know how unfair it is that shift workers are being forced to pay twice just to do one shift.

And I promise, I’m not giving up.

I’ve emailed the Transport Secretary, Louise Haigh, and shared our campaign with MPs, rail bodies, and unions. Transport Focus has written back again — supportive, but honest: they can’t make this change themselves. All they can do is keep pressuring those who can. It may take time.

In the meantime, I’ve asked my colleagues to share this with other NHS trusts. I’ve put posters up around my hospital (even if I risk being told off). I’ve used my own money to promote this, and I’ve posted day after day, in every way I can — despite many Facebook groups removing my posts for being “political.”

To me, this isn't political. It’s survival. It’s justice. It’s standing up so others won’t have to stay quiet.

I’m just a nurse. But I believe if we all push a little, we can change something big. We can show that NHS and shift workers do have a voice — and that commuting shouldn’t feel like a punishment.

If this campaign has ever made you feel seen, or hopeful, please keep sharing. I don’t mind doing the legwork — I just need you behind me.

Thank you all.
