This started as a petition to Discord until I was informed of the fact that Discord doesn't add emotes, Unicode does.

"Thonk" is a distorted version of the "Thinking" emote used often in a multitude of Discord servers, yet it's still not an official Unicode emote. As a result, you'll have to pay for Discord Nitro if you want to use it in Direct Messages or servers where it isn't implemented by the admin/owner. As someone who doesn't want to pay $100/month due to lack of ability to get a job in a pandemic, this is rather frustrating. "Thonk" is a great emote because it works in so many situations. For example, it's a good reaction when someone says something dumb while they believe they're entirely correct. It's very common and is available on a great many servers, ranging from small friend groups to the larger "verified" servers. It's such a ubiquitous thing that we believe the Unicode Consortium should add it as an official emote, making it available to everyone all the time.
