The Issue

When we chose to live in Raindance, it was because of the promises made about building a high-quality, resident-focused community. The Resort Pool was a cornerstone of those promises. We pay our Metro District taxes, HOA dues, and sometimes additional fees, believing these contributions would ensure a well-maintained, accessible, and community-centered amenity. Yet, what was once a cherished community feature has become a source of frustration. The pool is often overcrowded, undermaintained, and feels more like a burden than a benefit to those of us who call Raindance home. Many residents have become so frustrated that they have given up using the pool altogether.

Many residents have voiced their concerns about the Resort Pool’s current state. Overcrowding is a major issue, resulting in a diminished experience and making it difficult for families to safely enjoy the facilities.

Maintenance appears to have been neglected, with broken chairs, unclean pool water, and accessibility is another significant challenge; using it has become increasingly difficult due to these ongoing problems.

The residents of Raindance pay substantial fees—both through taxes and HOA dues—not just to gain access but as an investment in our community. We place trust in the leadership to honor their commitments, but that trust is now seriously shaken.

We, the undersigned residents of Raindance, are deeply concerned about the current state of the Resort Pool and surrounding amenities. What was once promoted as a premier, resident-focused feature has instead become a source of frustration, overcrowding, and unmet expectations.

Key Issues:
1. Public Access Over Resident Priority
Residents were led to believe the Resort Pool would be for residents only, included with HOA fees. Instead, it’s open to the public, causing overcrowding, parking problems, and reduced enjoyment for those of us who both pay for access and contribute via Metro District taxes.

2. Inconvenient Scheduling
The pool closes early—often before sunset—and during the school year, it’s largely inaccessible to stay-at-home parents, young children, and remote workers. With lighting and fire pits designed for evening use, extended hours should be possible.

3. Reduced Quality and Maintenance Issues
Frequent, unpredictable closures—sometimes without adequate notice—add to our frustration. Sanitation problems, poor communication, and early seasonal shutdowns further diminish the experience for paying residents.

4. Misuse or Underuse of Amenities
Features like fire pits and lighted areas remain unused due to early closures, wasting valuable resources that could otherwise foster community connection.

5. Erosion of Trust
Many of us feel misled. We were promised high-quality, residents-only access but instead face additional costs and declining benefits. The growing disconnect between leadership and residents is damaging our community’s trust.

We Request Immediate Action:
✅ Reassess public access and consider limiting public use to select days, reserving the majority of days exclusively for residents.
✅ Extend pool hours to 8:00 or 9:00 PM and keep the pool open through September.
✅ Improve weekday access during the school year to better serve non-traditional households.
✅ Enhance sanitation protocols, communication regarding closures, and responsiveness to resident concerns.
✅ Establish regular resident feedback forums to address ongoing issues and improvements.

This issue is about more than just a pool—it’s about restoring trust, honoring commitments, and making Raindance a community we are proud to call home. We urge the Raindance HOA and Metro District Boards to listen to residents’ voices and implement changes that reflect our investment and expectations.

Please support this petition to help reclaim the Raindance Resort Pool as a truly resident-focused amenity.

Sincerely,
Concerned Raindance Residents
