Calling all citizens of Alagaësia!

If you are like me, you read Eragon in school and was immediately enraptured by the world, characters, and--of course--the dragons. The Inheritance Cycle was the gateway book series that got me into all different types of fantasy and inspired me to foster my creative writing skills.

With the upcoming Disney+ TV series, announced new release of the new novel "Murtagh", and the anticipated fifth book in the cycle, the will be garnering a wider audience; some of which would have seen an Eragon movie (if it did, in fact, exist) and erroneously believe all there is to this story is a farmer boy, dragon, evil mage, and elven princess in need of saving. Some, however, will be piqued enough to turn to the source material, whether that be a physical copy of the books, or an audiobook.

Audiobooks have been becoming much more popular in recent years due to the ability to listen and multitask while doing chores, at work, or on a walk outside. It is an entirely new way to immerse yourself into a story from a different perspective. Most audiobooks tend to have one voice actor who is reading all parts, which--while convenient--can drone on at times.

However, one company has completely transformed the way I view audiobooks. I started listening to the Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson (also another great fantasy series with a wonderful magic system) using GraphicAudio, and the difference is incredible: each book on their site has voice acting with a full cast for each character, sound effects that mirror what is happening in the story, and even custom music. Their catchphrase is literally "a movie in your mind" and I feel this is a more than apt statement.

Every time I listened to a GraphicAudio book, I found myself wanting the same for all the series I hold dear to my heart, and was surprised to not see the Inheritance Cycle on the list. I wanted it to be a reality so badly that I emailed the company and asked if they had any plans to make Eragon into a GraphicAudio book, with the following response:

With that said, I am hoping this petition gets enough traction that Christopher Paolini sees it and realizes the potential and affect this audio medium can have on its listeners. Hearing people speak the Ancient language, Saphira's voice, and the ambient sounds of fighting in the Battle of Urû'baen would be a dream come true.

The sooner we get the signatures, the sooner this can become a reality, so please sign now before you forget or put it off. Thank you for reading!
