The HUA recently announced they would pilot a turkey as Harvard’s official mascot, to replace the current one that is John Harvard. The reasoning given was that turkeys are everywhere on campus. But this is false. I’ve seen like maybe a couple dozen turkeys (maybe less I’m not that good at counting as evidenced by my Stat 110 midterm). If we want something that is ubiquitous on Harvard’s campus, then there is only one creature up to the task: the heater bug.

heater bugs are in our dorm heater, in our library heater, and in our office heaters. I’ve never seen a turkey at Stat 110 office hours in Kirkland, but I have seen heater bugs. And heater bugs are so chill too, like they’re just vibing eating their heater juices. Isn’t that who we want to be?
