The idea of what domestic abuse looks like compared to when domestic violence charity Refuge was first set up more than 52 years ago has changed dramatically. There are still broken bones and bruises, but now perpetrators can turn to technology, which has become another tool in their arsenal.

It happens across any device or platform you can think of and takes many forms: the use of social media to harass and stalk; tracking devices; bank cards being frozen. That’s why Grazia is joining forces with Refuge to call on the Government to make sure tech companies consider women’s safety when they design products. Tech designed with women’s safety in mind would make it harder for perpetrators to stalk and harass survivors. We need to end digital stalking.
