Make sneakers o'toole remove his shoes
The Issue
I live in the small, comfortable community of Quahog, Rhode Island, where we all agreed on the simple act of taking our sneakers off upon entering shared spaces. We find this choice of footwear highly offensive. Unfortunately, not everyone has been abiding by this simple rule, particularly Sneakers O'Toole.
Despite our clear sign—"Please Remove Your Shoes"—Sneakers walks into our communal areas with his shoes on, leaving behind scuff marks, dirt, and an air of disrespect. It's a nuisance that disrupts our harmony and leaves us, the residents, to clean up after him. In the house of God, he won't remove them. In the city streets, he struts about distracting everybody with his glowing blue soles, which is in clear violation of our light pollution ordinances. There was a specific incident where he was serving on a jury for an important trial and distracted the courtroom with his footwear. After Judge Griffin blew up and held him in contempt of court, his socially disruptive behavior has only worsened.
He has orchestrated a disinformation campaign to muddy the waters about this issue in the form of a play which was put on in the community theatre. His actors sang of O'Toole as a folk hero, and not as the cultural agitator that he truly is. He has further poisoned the well with the viral internet videos that he has produced of himself, which portray a warped and biased view of the situation to the country.
We've tried to catch him and force him to remove his shoes, but we have come to the realization that we will never catch him. At least, not in these shoes.
What we are asking is for Mayor West to either arrest Sneakers O'Toole and force him to take his shoes off, or approve legislation that will provide the citizens and law enforcement of Quahog with proper footwear that will allow us to catch him and regularly keep him under control.
Thank you for your signature. With all of the social media buzz around O'Toole and the national attention on our little town that he has drummed up, we want people to look at this issue from the perspective of the good, honest, hard-working people of Quahog.
