Like many of you, I regularly play League of Legends, a game cherished by communities globally. However, an issue I've consistently faced is the presence of smurfs in my games. These are players who purposefully create low-level accounts to play against less experienced individuals, causing an unfair and frustrating gaming environment.

Every single match I step into, there seems to be at least one smurf dominating the game, making it hard to enjoy and progress. This is a personal plea fueled by countless hours spent on the battleground, ending in bitter disappointment due to actions which currently bear no consequences.

It's not just me being impacted. In 2020, it was reported that 5-10% of all League of Legends matches are impacted by smurfing (based on the developers' data analysis). This undercuts the game's ranking system and the experience for new or casual players, dampening the spirit of fair competition.

By making smurfing a bannable offense, we can provide players with a fairer, more enjoyable gaming environment as it was originally intended to be. It's time to put the power back in the hands of true gamers who wish to progress through genuine skill and strategy, not manipulative tactics.
