Our schools are gasping for air — overcrowded classrooms, underpaid teachers, crumbling buildings, and dwindling resources. Meanwhile, millions of taxpayer dollars have quietly funneled into the pockets of both previous and current school board members, instead of reaching the kids they swore to serve.

It’s time for accountability. If our children are expected to carry the weight of poor leadership, then board members should literally carry the weight of the oxygen they waste. Until funds are restored and redirected toward education, each member should be required to carry a potted plant at every public appearance, a living symbol of the resources they’ve squandered and the fresh air they’ve denied our schools.

The facts:

• Millions of dollars that could have funded teachers, textbooks, and infrastructure have instead been mismanaged and diverted under school board oversight.

   

• Top-tier administrators and board members have taken salary increases while teachers are expected to “do more with less.”

1. Require current and former board members to make visible amends by symbolically carrying a plant until they return funds or secure restitution.

    

2. Implement mandatory salary decreases for top-tier positions until school funding priorities are corrected.

    

3. Launch a transparent investigation into financial mismanagement, with full disclosure to taxpayers and parents.

Our children deserve more than excuses. They deserve classrooms that breathe. If leadership won’t prioritize our kids, then it’s time to shame them into action — with facts, accountability, and yes, even plants.
