Right now, queer couples who build lives, homes, and futures together are treated as legal strangers in times of crisis. They are denied basic human securities that every heterosexual family takes for granted:

Dignity And Equal Citizenship: Being forced to live as second-class citizens in a modern democracy.

Decriminalizing homosexuality was a historic step, but true freedom is incomplete without equal rights under the law. Parliament exists to represent all citizens, protect families, and fix systemic injustices.

We demand that the Parliament of India take up this responsibility, debate the issue, and amend or enact legislation (such as the Special Marriage Act) to legally recognize same-sex marriage.
