As a student who has spent four years at Alliance Academy for Innovation, I have witnessed  mixed feelings towards pep rallies. While some students, like myself, enjoy these events as a break from academic stress and an opportunity to show school spirit, there is a significant number of students who view them as an unnecessary distraction. These students would rather use this time to study or rest. The discontent is palpable during these events; instead of the intended enthusiastic atmosphere, many students complain or appear unhappy.

This dissatisfaction not only affects those who do not wish to participate but also diminishes the experience for those who genuinely enjoy pep rallies. It's clear that making pep rallies mandatory has had the opposite effect than intended - it's creating an environment of resentment rather than fostering school spirit.

In light of this situation, we propose that participation in pep rallies be made optional. This change would allow those uninterested in these events to utilize their time more effectively according to their preferences and needs while ensuring that those attending are truly invested in the experience.

We believe this will lead to higher quality experiences at our pep rallies and improve overall student satisfaction with how their time is managed during school hours. We urge you to consider our proposal seriously - let's make Alliance Academy for Innovation a place where every student feels heard and valued.
