Make Parental Alienation a Recognized Crime

The Issue

Our personal journey has led us to this point. Both my husband and I left relationships in which we had children, only to be denied access to our own children by our ex-partners. They fabricated stories, filed baseless claims in family court, leading us on a years-long battle for the right to be part of our children's lives. This is not just our story; it's the story of countless parents who are victims of parental alienation.

Parental alienation is a form of child abuse where one parent manipulates their child against the other parent without any good reason. It is an issue that affects millions worldwide but remains largely unrecognized as a crime.

According to research conducted by the American Psychological Association (APA), parental alienation can lead to long-term trauma for both the parent and child involved. The APA states that children who experience parental alienation may suffer from depression, low self-esteem, substance abuse and other negative life outcomes later in life.

We believe it's time for change. We urge lawmakers to recognize parental alienation as a crime punishable by law - because no parent should be unjustly separated from their child based on false allegations or manipulative tactics.

We need your support now more than ever - sign this petition today and help make parental alienation recognized as the crime it truly is.
