A few months ago, my trash cans were struck in a hit-and-run incident. While I initially thought little of it, the situation escalated on November 18, 2024, when my parked car was hit by another vehicle directly in front of my home. The extent of the damage is still uncertain, and it remains unclear whether my car will be totaled.

After sharing my experience on Facebook, I learned that this type of incident is becoming increasingly common in our neighborhood. Many drivers frequently speed down major roads such as Tarawa Blvd and Bougainville Drive, putting pedestrians and other drivers at risk.

This petition aims to raise awareness of this issue and encourage the proper officials to consider implementing speed bumps as a safety measure.

Safer roads are essential not only for drivers but also for families in our community. While vehicles can be replaced, lives cannot. Installing speed bumps would help slow down traffic, prompting drivers to be more mindful of their speed and surroundings, rather than texting or speeding through our streets.
