Dear concerned citizens,

It is time to take action and make our journeys safer by having traffic lights installed at roundabouts. According to a study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, roundabouts have a higher rate of accidents compared to traditional intersections. This is due to the fact that drivers often misjudge the speed and distance of other vehicles when entering or exiting the roundabout especially when joining Green Road roundabout from Barton, there is no controls,  so many accidents occurs cause we have to take a risk and join roundabout in matter of seconds, in  many situations there is near-misses cause of speeding vehicles or blind spots ( large lorries or irresponsible drivers who jumps red lights) . We need more better managed roundabout.  We are seeing on daily bases crashed vehicles, vehicle parts etc.  How many lifes need to be taken for action to take a place?  Install traffic light controls to make it safer for use to commute to work, school etc. 

It is affecting all rezidents at Barton and vehicles who is passing Barton exit. Action needs to be taken immediately for our safety. 

Installing traffic lights at roundabouts can significantly reduce accidents and improve safety for all road users. 

Furthermore, traffic lights can also help improve traffic flow during peak hours, reducing congestion and travel time for commuters.

We urge local authorities to take this matter seriously and prioritize the installation of traffic lights at all high-risk roundabouts such as Green Road roundabout.
