Orange Grove Road is one of the busiest roads in our community. Every day, thousands of drivers, families, students, cyclists, runners, and pedestrians rely on it to travel safely through the Catalina Foothills.

Unfortunately, this stretch of road has a long history of crashes. Public records show 170 reported crashes in the study area, including 71 crashes that caused injuries and 1 fatal crash. Residents have also raised ongoing concerns about speeding, heavy traffic, limited visibility around curves, and the difficulty of safely navigating the corridor during busy periods.

While safety measures already exist, the number of crashes and continued community concerns suggest that more should be done. Orange Grove Road deserves a closer look to ensure it is as safe as possible for everyone who uses it.

We are asking Pima County to prioritize a comprehensive safety review of Orange Grove Road and identify improvements that can reduce crashes and improve safety for all road users.
