Make Oklahoma Department of Corrections Clean Up all Their State Prison Facilities!!

The Issue

Prisons in Oklahoma are all run-down, very low-quality in foods that are being served, all housing dorms/cells are unlivable, needing paint and mold throughout, medical conditions are horrible, inmates clothing is old or not enough to go around and the list goes on and on!!

If you have a loved one incarcerated or spouse, sign this petition TODAY!!  Share this petition with local Legislatures to get this heard in the Senate and MAKE D.O.C. BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR TREATING INMATES WORST THAN A DOG IN A KENTAL.

In this landmark case by Bobble Battle from 1977 was the last and only case filed against prison conditions ever in this State of Oklahoma!!

Bobby BATTLE et al., a class action, Plaintiffs,
United States of America, Plaintiff-Intervenor,
v.
Park ANDERSON, his successor Richard Crisp, Warden, Oklahoma State Penitentiary, McAlester, Oklahoma, and his successor, J. M. Sunderland, Warden, Oklahoma State Reformatory, Granite, Oklahoma, and his successor, Department of Corrections, F. Warren Benton, Director, his successor, and the current State Board of Corrections, Frank E. Carey, Jr., President, Leroy W. Kirk, Patricia Montgomery, Gary M. Cook, Chester T. Curtin, Seth Millington, William Thompson, as members, and their successors, Defendants.
 Civ. A. No. 72-95.

This landmark case covered all issues that needed done back then, but the prison system is running the prisons down again.  Mabel Bassett in McLoud, OK opened in the fall of 1998 and it was run by a private facility for many years, until the STATE took is over and has had it for the last 22 years . . . cells, dorms are needing painted, cells have mold in them, the facility kitchen is serving inadequate food for the basic 4 food servings daily, older and even younger inmates are not receiving the medical treatment they need, dental, clothing is old or not enough to go around, no new under garments - used ones or none at all are being given out to new arriving inmates, not enough coats, etc.

Families are buying sheets sets, orange towels, orange shorts, orange t-shirts, white socks, white bras, white panties, among providing them with funds to buy food off canteen to eat, since the food in the facilities kitchens are so unfit to eat.

So, if you feel that the STATE OF OKLAHOMA needs to step up and take care of their facilities, PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION TODAY!

Thank you very much for your time!

Sincerely, Cynthia Butler
