Both our Prime Minister and our Premier have said we are currently in "the Second Wave of COVID-19."

The 'Edinburgh Village' on Chancellors Way is a crowded, student filled set of apartments/townhouses right next to the University of Guelph.  It is known for hosting unofficial street parties for Homecoming, St. Patrick's Day, or whenever students want to party.  It is common to see students, taxis, and food delivery drivers coming and going from the area.  The hallways are too narrow to socially distance and many people are not wearing any kind of face covering.

I don't want to see Chancellors Way become an COVID outbreak in Guelph.

Currently our landlord, Bryant Simmons, does not require face masks to be worn in the stairwells, hallways, or lobbies of the apartments.

The City of Hamilton just passed a similar bylaw last Monday requiring masks in the common areas in all Hamilton apartment buildings due to COVID-19.
