Michael's and JOANN are 2 of the most popular craft supply stores in the United States. Neither business provides motorized, sit down shopping carts, which makes it difficult for elderly and other people with impaired mobility to shop comfortably. I spoke to both corporate offices, and they only provide a manual wheelchair, which many of us cannot use without someone else pushing. Managers at several stores local to me say most of their yarn customers are 55+. That department is often towards the back of the store. We want to be able to shop independently without pain! We ask that each store please provide a couple of motorized carts, and ensure that the store aisles are accessible to the carts. You will not only be creating a better shopping experience for your customers, you will be making crafting more accessible to people who may not be able to get out as much as they could before, bringing some people more joy in their lives!
