The issue

Growing up as a Jewish person in our diverse and multicultural society, I have experienced both the warmth of community support and the chilling reality of antisemitism. Whether it’s something as overt as graffiti on synagogues or more subtle acts of discrimination at work or school, the fear and pain these acts instill in us are profound and long-lasting.

Antisemitism has been rising alarmingly, according to a comprehensive study by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which reported that incidents of antisemitic harassment, vandalism, and violence in the U.S. have surged by over 30% in recent years. These statistics paint a bleak picture of the safety and acceptance of Jewish people, not just in America, but globally.

In response to this growing threat, we can no longer stand idly by. We demand a commitment from our local and national authorities to combat antisemitism with full determination. It is critical that governments enforce stricter penalties for hate crimes and support educational programs that promote understanding and tolerance of all cultures, including Jewish traditions and history, in schools and communities.

Additionally, social media platforms must take responsibility in curbing online antisemitism by removing hateful content promptly and banning repeat offenders. These platforms wield significant influence, and it is their duty to ensure they do not become breeding grounds for hate and bigotry.

The time to act is now. We owe it to ourselves and future generations to foster a world where Jewish individuals can live without fear. By signing this petition, you are taking a stand for a safer, more inclusive society for all Jewish people. Let's drive real change by demonstrating our shared commitment to protect against hatred.
