Make It Mandatory For People To Wear Something To Let Others Know Their Prnouns

The Issue

This petition will protect the 98% of the public and population from undo harassment and unjust labeling and/or endangerment in their work place, schools, and any place open to the public.

A minority of our population have chosen to be referred to by self-identity pronouns, including but not limited to, they/them, it, Z, and others.

Some biological males want to be referred to as she, her, Mam. Some biological females want to be referred to as he, him, Sir. We, as the general public, don’t know this just by seeing or speaking with them (store clerks, waiters/waitresses, etc). And if we mislabel them by using visual clues and cues that we have all been brought up to understand, we can be held libel, banned, expelled, or fired. This is unacceptable.

If a person wants to be called or referred to by their own identity pronouns, then they should be mandated to wear a badge or shirt or hat; something that easily identifies and lists all their pronouns.

We are not mind readers. If they can call us out by saying we’re homophobic, then we have a right to call them Mam or Sir. I was brought up by calling my elders Mam and Sir and have carried that to include anyone that I respectfully want to address. If these people want respect from us they need to respect us in return.

With all of the newly enacted laws to protect those who self identify as something that they outwardly do not project, we as a public need to be alerted to those who identify as different than what we may visual recognize.

It is for the 98% of the public to be protected from being harassed, accused, and being brought into litigation (or worse; fired, expelled, banned) for being polite and using pronouns that we all grew up with and use daily.

I recommend that if a person wants to be called by their own pronouns, then they should alert all who come in contact with them to know their preferred pronouns.

I also propose that if they deem it unnecessary to alert the public (by way of listing those pronouns as mentioned above) of their preferred pronouns and they create or instigate an argument and/or use of foul language and/or labeling, ie: homophobic, etc. that they should be held accountable for inciting violence and unsafe environments for which the general public are exposed to.

We risk violence against ourselves and our families and/or severe penalties, persecution, and litigation, if we happen to misidentify a person in today’s political drive to accommodate the 2% over the 98%.

Our government officials, from teachers, school boards, gym administrators, assemblymen, representatives, mayors, governors, congress, and president of the United States have chosen to create laws and regulations against our safety and livelihood to appease the 2%. They fail to recognize that it’s the 98% of the population who vote them into office and we need to take a stand.

Please join me in my attempt to create a safer world where people of all races, genders, and identities can get along.
