The Issue

Friday morning, February 21. I finally got my son to sleep around 1:30 AM a few hours later I had the feeling that I needed to wake up and use the bathroom but little did I know the second I got up that feeling to use the bathroom went away, when I got up, I looked over into my 6 week old baby boy Ezra’s crib and noticed that he was blue and not breathing I pick him up immediately and I yelled for my husband to call 911! While my husband is on the phone with 911. I stimulate him trying to get him to breathe. He finally starts crying, but he looked extremely out of it! The ambulance showed up and started taking  his vitals and making sure he was breathing at that moment. His vitals looked normal and he was breathing. When we arrive to the hospital. They start doing a bunch of things making sure his vitals are stable and he is breathing adequately! Next thing I know we are being told to exit the room and they close the curtain and I hear the doctor say, “ Let’s intubate! Begin compressions! hold compressions! Pulse check! This went on for 35 minutes! in this 35 minutes. I heard them shock him a minimum of 3 times! They finally got my baby back!!! They life flighted him to a children’s hospital where they got him stable and hooked up to a ventilator and more monitors! They do MRIs and x-rays! The MRI showed a small hemorrhage in the part of his brain that controls balance, he will need physical therapy to make sure he is hitting his milestones! He also has 6 broken ribs from CPR! This exact reason is why I believe every set of parents should receive an Owlet Sock or some version through their insurance! This device can save so many babies from not waking up to their mommies and daddy’s! Too many children pass from SIDS and unsafe sleeping environments!! if I had this device for my son the day this happened he would not have been in the position he was in! thankfully I woke up in time to save him, but too many parents don’t wake up in time!! This will save so many parents, the heartache of losing their babies. Let’s make a change and save as many babies as we can!!
