I recently lost my precious cat. While searching on social media, I was appalled to discover countless stories of cats who fell victim to hit and run incidents. Each tale was more heartbreaking than the last, showcasing a troubling trend that demands immediate attention and action.

Cats, like any other animals, deserve care and respect on our roads. Yet, in many places, it is not mandatory for a driver to stop if they hit a cat. This oversight in our legal system allows many of these incidents to go unreported and unresolved, leaving families heartbroken and justice unserved.

In some cases it could even save the cats life or ease its suffering.

We are not asking for the impossible. Many regions already have laws in place requiring drivers to report if they've hit certain animals, but often, cats are not included in these lists. It's time to bridge this gap and ensure that cats receive the same protection.
