As a student within the Moreno Valley Unified School District, I along with my fellow students are being significantly affected by the stringent controls of two popular Internet monitoring programs named GoGuardian and Linewize. Due to such stringent settings of these internet filters, we experience regular blockage of educational websites and games.

When our teachers assign free time for educational games or instruct us to research using specific educational websites, we find ourselves helpless as these platforms are often deemed inaccessible by GoGuardian and Linewize. The irony is that the access controls implemented to ensure a safe and effective learning environment have started to hinder our learning process instead.

Our teachers recommend these educational websites for a reason; they provide unique learning opportunities that cater to different learning styles and aid the comprehensive development of a student's skills. Choosing to block them not only undermines the judgment of our educators but also restricts us from leveraging these educational resources to supplement our learning. This problem is personal as it directly impacts our daily academic activities and subtly depreciates the quality of education received.

This petition is a call upon Moreno Valley Unified School District to revisit the settings of GoGuardian and Linewize and relax their rigid configurations. This will allow easier access to the educational websites suggested by teachers and the usage of educational games during our free time.
