Its been almost a month now after Diwali but still many dogs are missing and many caregivers worried and sad for their lost furry friends.

Biggy who suffers from epilepsy and was on regular medication is still missing. No clue about him. His caregiver Nikhil (M-+919811763993) has sleepless nights. Due to epilepsy Biggy's memory had become poor. So his chances of tracing his home back is quite dim. It's quite cold in Delhi now so surviving this cold won't be easy.  Nikhil used to put warm blankets and beddings for Biggy and his siblings.  Who must be putting warm blanket for Biggy now? Its not just cold, Biggy must also be fighting against hunger, thirst and dog attacks? Is Biggy injured? Is he still alive? These are the questions which are troubling Nikhil everyday

Just three days back Sanjeev (M-+919811212895)  a resident of East Delhi found a badly injured dog near his house (Pic in the post). He had injury around his neck and the wound was badly infested with maggots. The dog was terrified as the other dogs were attacking him, biting him and barking at him. Sanjeev's wife Goldee who feeds daily around 7 to 10 dogs around her house just couldn't see the dog in pain. She took food for the dog but the dog was too weak, sick and terrified to eat. Sanjeev with the help of another caregiver Shanti (M-+918929307936) called a private ambulance and sent the dog to SPCA Noida. The dog was in a miserable condition and the maggots had already eaten his vital organs. The poor soul left this cruel world just one day after being admitted.

No one knows from where this dog came and what all he suffered during these last few days? Diwali the festival of light has turned into a black day for so many animals. It's a shame that we Indians have converted such a beautiful festival into a torturous and an evil one.

Charlie a 10 year old dog shivered out of fear due to firecrackers. His owner Fiona filmed his response to firecrackers. Kindly go on the link below to see how dogs suffer due to firecrackers. Charlie was inside the house and in the company of his human family and yet he suffered mental and emotional trauma due to crackers. Just imagine what happens to dogs who are on roads and in the open. There no one beside them to comfort them. These dogs run in fear from here and there. Diwali night is like a nightmare to them. They are absolutely traumatized.

It's a shame that our politicians and leaders only see the impact of fire crackers on air pollution. They don't see its deadly impact on animals and birds.....

Animal laws in India should introduce penalties and punishments for people who use fire crackers to harm animals & birds be it on Diwali or be it on any other day.
