Delhi is the capital of India and is the office of two Governments both Central and State. Yet many living in Delhi are neither law abiding nor have any care for the environment.
Due to very high air pollution levels in Delhi the state Govt had ordered a ban on fire crackers.
Yet on 14th November 2020, on the night of Diwali, many in Delhi burnt crackers. And the result is right in front of us. The air pollution today morning has grown many fold. There was also a fine imposed for the law breakers but I just wonder if anyone was fined????
Diksha (M- 8076968920) a young law student objected to her neighbours playing with crackers yesterday night. They were burning bombs which were not only adding to smoke but also creating loud sound which was scaring the dogs away. Diksha is a caregiver and stays on the second floor of her building. She just couldn't tolerate the hooliganism which her neighbours were doing in the pretext of celebrating Diwali. So she climbed down and had a verbal altercation with these hooligans.
Diwali is a festival of light but burning crackers has blackened the sky of Delhi. The people of Delhi have not much heart for the animals but what about their own children?? They are not bothered for them as well. Infact it is the parents who encourage their kids to play with crackers.
They just don't see any problem with high rise in air pollution. Nothing can be more insane than this.
And what about the law enforcement? Why is the law enforcement agency so poor in India?
There was a fine for burning the crackers but was action taken against anyone? Crackers were burnt in most of the parts of the city ofcourse the intensity was much less than the previous years because of the ban. ......
If anyone knows about any fine being imposed then kindly let us know coz I have not come across any case where anyone was fined for burning crackers inspite of the ban on the day of Diwali.
Anyway the neighbours fought with Diksha, told her all nasty things and went inside their home.
Today morning many animal whatsapp groups were flooded with messages mentioning about dogs who have gone missing. They are not traceable.
The caregivers are looking for their dogs since morning.
Because of the fire crackers the dogs run away and they have no idea where they are going because all they are trying to do is run away from the ear deafening sound of the cracker. Research says that dogs hearing ability is many times more than humans. Hence, it explains why they run like mad on the day of Diwali. The chances of such dogs coming back home is not easy at all. They have already lost their way and to add to their misery they are chased, barked at, bitten and hounded by the dogs of that territory. Seldom these lost dogs find their way back home. Their caregivers keep praying for their safety and the poor dog lives a life of pain, misery and hunger.
Following is a conversation on an animal whatsapp group which happened today:
[15/11, 12:57] Sunita (M- +918851960447): Hello everyone pls let me know in case you spot this brown colo boy ...he looks big and one of his ear is bent downwards
[15/11, 12:57] Sunita: Missing since last evening
[15/11, 12:59] Urvashi (M- +919818670653) dogs missing hah hope sb apni jagh pr wapis pahuch jaye
Urvashi has written "many dogs are missing, hope they all reach back their respective locations"
The dog in the pic is the one Sunita is mentioning about. Let's hope the dog gets united with her soon.
Just what kind of Diwali celebration is this?
The dogs have the most difficult night of their life. The pet dogs too hide under the sofa, chair or a bed. Many start shivering and run madly from here and there.
It is needless to say that Diwali is a traumatic night for all the animals: Be it cows, monkeys, birds or cats.......
Crackers should be banned permanently on Diwali in India.
And the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act should bring an amendment and impose high penalty on people who burn crackers and thereby inflict pain and trauma to the voiceless. This is also animal cruelty. Many caregivers get sleepless nights from the day of Diwali because Diwali night separates them from their furry friend. Few lucky ones get united with their lost dogs and many keep waiting endlessly hoping that some day they will meet their sweetheart.
