What is the problem with we Indians? Another case of dog cruelty has been reported from Thane, Maharashtra. This time acid was thrown on the dog and it was done to discourage him from sitting in front of the house of the culprits. Is sitting in front of the house such a big crime that one pours acid to teach him a lesson? Anyway the dog has lost his two front legs and one ear. He is currently under medical treatment in an NGO and the founder of the NGO has adopted him.
Why can't we Indians adopt these homeless dogs as soon as they are born? Why should they suffer so much? For the details of the case kindly go on the link below:
In another incident a caregiver was beaten up by his own neighbour for taking care of stray dogs in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh (pic in the post). The accused has no fear of law as he is still threatening the victim with dire consequences. This is what is the problem in India. Power and money sometimes overrules the law of the land. Diwali the festival of light is just a day away and thankfully the Delhi Govt has banned fire crackers this time.
Diwali is the day when Lord Rama reached his home Ayodhya after spending 14 years in forest and killing the demon Ravana. It was the victory of good over evil. And ever since that day every year Diwali is celebrated in India. The day Rama came to Ayodhya it was a no moon's day hence people lit up their houses and streets with lamps to welcome their hero.
Rama fought the battle with an army which comprised mostly of animals. Hanuman (a monkey), Sugreev (monkey), Jaamvant (Bear) and squirrels (they helped in making the bridge).
Today we Indians have lost the true meaning of Diwali.
We only worship Lord Rama but what about his companionship and love for animals? Are we following his footsteps? The answer is no. We are too busy getting rid of animals and.our cruelty towards animals is only increasing day by day. We are too busy making smart cities without having any room for these voiceless souls.
Not just that for past many years we have been burning crackers without giving any thought to our environment. Delhi and it's adjoining areas have very high levels of air pollution. The Delhi Govt has banned crackers this Diwali. This is indeed a great move. But the bigger question is will it allow fire crackers next Diwali if there is improvement in air pollution?
The night of Diwali is a nightmare for animals in India. The stray dogs run from here and there absolutely terrified. Many get lost and are seldom reunited with their caregivers. Many even get burnt. Obviously when the dogs are in such pain the caregivers too start cursing this day. Many times rockets and bombs burn a branch of a tree injuring the birds and monkeys.
At least the Delhi Govt has banned crackers this diwali for the safety of our children and our lives: HUMAN LIFE. But there are other state Govts who have not banned and urged people to exercise restraint.
Mostly in Indian schools the teachers tell the kids "SAY NO TO CRACKERS BECAUSE IT POLLUTES THE AIR"
When will the teachers tell the kids "SAY NO TO CRACKERS BECAUSE IT SCARES THE ANIMALS AND IT HURTS THEM"
If only our teachers and parents had told the kids not to play with crackers because the dogs, cats, monkeys and birds get hurt because of it then probably today the air quality would not have been this bad in India..
We Indians unfortunately have lost the real meaning of Diwali.
