A dog in Uttarakhand was beaten to death (pic in the post). The culprit is still roaming freely. The caregivers of the dog did try to lodge a complaint against the accused but police did nothing. It seems the accused has been cruel to dogs even in the past. If he is not punished today it's quite likely that he will not mend his ways and he will kill more dogs in future. A female dog had given birth to 5 pups. The caregivers had made a temporary wooden house for her which was broken by the man living right in front of the place where she had given birth to the pups. The pups were all 20 day old. It seems the pups were physically assaulted as they had maggot wounds. The cruel man not only burnt the house but also threw away the pups on the road. Four of them died and one was kept by this man. He assured the caregivers that he will take care of him but the pup too got infected from Parvo and the man instead of getting him treated, tied his legs and threw him in or near the canal. In another heart wrenching case in Bhillai a mother dog was beaten up by few men. About seven days back she had delivered babies. The men hit her so hard with the hockey stick that it broke into two pieces. The head was so badly hit that a hole was made in it. She bled from head, nose and mouth. The PFA team of Bhillai came to her rescue and gave her medical treatment. Miraculously she has been saved and her rescuers feel that it was her motherly instinct which gave her strength to fight against death. Probably she survived for her pups.
