Recently we saw how the Gurugram corporation worker in the most barbaric fashion picked up the dogs and tried to relocate them illegally. And after two days the supervisor who did it was dismissed and the contractor given a show cause notice.
Another barbaric and unimaginable incident has been reported from Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh. Here after the owner of a pet dog was diagnosed with COVID 19 the corporation workers killed the dog (the pic in the post). The reason for killing the dog was that the dog had spread the COVID 19 to his owner. Imagine the kind of misinformation people in India are having about dogs. And the govt departments are hardly doing anything to bust this terrible myth. It seems they believe in it. Therefore they have allowed thousands of dogs to be abandoned and abused and killed during the lockdown period.

Corporation is a govt body and if their employees are blatantly killing dogs in the name of COVID 19 then what can be expected from a common citizen of India.
Again social media will put pressure on the govt and again the corporation worker who killed the dog will get dismissed.
But Is he the actual culprit or the supervisor who got dismissed in Gurugram the real culprit? Or are they the scapegoats?
What is stopping the govt especially in the north Indian states from telling the truth to the people of India that dogs do not spread COVID 19?
Why don't they tell people not to abandon their dogs or kill them as they are in no way a threat to us.
Just opposite from North Indian states are the south Indian states. We recently saw how the state of Karnataka has taken the responsibility of its stray dogs. The commissioner of the municipal corporation has also issued a public notice regarding dog rules and the myth that they infect humans with COVID 19. These are some of the highlights of the notice:
1 Dogs do not spread COVID 19 to humans
2 legal action shall be taken against those who harm dogs or abandon them
3 legal action shall be taken against people who are found harassing the caregivers and dog feeders
4 Legal action shall be taken against anybody found speeding rumours related to COVID 19 especially animals like dogs spreading it in humans
3 legal action shall be taken against pet shop owners who do not feed or give water to their pets in the shop. Such as birds, fishes etc....

Indian laws pertaining to animals ( prevention of cruelty to animals ac) are applicable all over India and COVID 19 is not discriminatory. It will treat all the Indian citizens alike so why is it that a corporation in the state of Madhya Pradesh is busy killing dogs and another corporation in the state of Karnataka is doing everything possible to save the life of dogs? Or are the dogs of Madhya Pradesh different from the dogs of Karnataka?
In another incident of dog cruelty a dog died on the street due to a speeding vehicle. Even during lockdown when the streets are absolutely deserted and the driver can easily apply the brakes such incidents are happening. Unfortunately most of the people who hit the dogs think it's absoluteky lawful to kill them under their wheels. Some do it by accident and for some it may be a thrilling sport.
This cruel incident took place in Guwahati, the capital of the state of Assam (Eastern state of India).
Here a car hit a dog on an empty road and didn't even stop to check on him. No guilt, No remorse. Probably he enjoyed doing it. The good thing is that the incident has got captured in the CCTV footage. Also an FIR has been lodged by the PAW Foundation, Guwahati against the driver.

It's time all the states of India including Madhya Pradesh and Assam followed the state of Karnataka. Today the state has shown the world that it deserves to be called the IT hub of India. People here are indeed educated and their leaders visionaries
