Dogitization a campaign started by Vandana Jain a former marketing professional working for a famous media house is now a full time stray dog rights activist who has invested three long years in trying to make the life of stray dogs better in the city of Indore. She not only left her very promising and lucrative career for the sake of the man's best friend but has worked relentlessly in bringing awareness about dog laws and dog behaviour amongst the people of Indore. And it seems that her hard work is bearing fruits now. Not only the common man of Indore has started accepting dogs as the man's best friend but also the administration.
As summers in Indore is very hot so she anticipated it much in advance and requested the Methodox family to donate cemented water pots for the stray dogs which they very magnanimously donated.
The pots were installed at various places with the help of many people right from individual volunteers to the corporation and the NGO PFA. And now they have been installed by the police personnel at various police stations of the city. And the best part is that the policeman are filling the pots for the dogs and ensuring that the dogs are not thirsty. One has to see it to believe it.

Also after news started coming in of dogs getting ferocious during lockdown in the city of Indore due to hunger the administration (corporation) started feeding the dogs from their own funds. That's indeed commendable. Very few cities and states of India are feeding the stray from their own pockets and Indore is one of them
However, Vandana with the help of Sunanda Jain also arranged bread toast for the hungry dogs which the policeman of Indore have agreed to feed the dogs with. Watch the video to see how the policman is feeding the dogs with toast and a bowl of water.

Vandana like any caregiver of India has only one dream. The dream to make India dog friendly. She has certainly succeeded to a large extent by making indore dog friendly right from a common man to the administration.
The dream of making the whole of India dog friendly can happen only when the administration (municipal corporations) comes forward and work with a positive approach towards the dogs who are officially and by law the responsibility of the corporation. The corporation is not only responsible for the ABC programme but also responsible for their well being.
But how many corporations are fulfilling their duty? In most of the places in India it is the individuals and NGOs who are feeding the stray during lockdown.
Bhopal which is the capital city of Madhya Pradesh is just the opposite of Indore. Here the dogs are not only starving but like every big city like Delhi and Mumbai are also getting abandoned. Ujjain another very prominent city of Madhya Pradesh is a hell for dogs. We have seen in the past that how dogs were killed by tongs by the corporation workers while being relocated in the name of swachhta.
The world famous Temple of Mahakaal is also situated in this city. Mahakaal is one of the forms of Lord Shiva. Dogs have a very strong affiliation with Mahakaal. But look at the condition of the dogs in the city. Their population has grown manifold due to ineffective and poor implementation of the ABC programme and today due to lockdown the hungry dogs are running after the policemen and even biting them.
Vandana had approached the Ujjain administration in May 2019 and appealed to them to make their city dog friendly by making the dogs sterilized and immunised against rabies but the administration just didn't listen to her.

The three cities:Indore, Bhopal and Ujjain are of the same state but Indore stands apart.
