Make impersonating military personnel to deceive for personal gain a criminal offence

The Issue

Genuine military veterans and serving personnel face a possible backlash and intense, unfair scruiteny as a result of the growing amount and high profile cases of individuals impersonating military personel in unscrupulous acts for personal gain.
‘Stolen Valour’ is the term commonly applied to the phenomenon of individuals wearing military medals or decorations that they have not been awarded, with the intent to deceive.
This campaign calls for legislation to come in to force in the UK with detailed laws regarding unlawful behaviour, as well as the penalty for committing an offence of impersonating military personnel in order to deceive and defraud for personal gain.
