91,000 fabulous people — and counting

To every one of you who has signed Every Hospice Matters: thank you.

You didn’t just have a view on this. You cared enough to act.

That matters.

We are now at more than 91,000 signatures, and I genuinely believe we are going to take 100,000 names to Downing Street very shortly.

Behind those numbers are people like:

Darren Wright, Alton — his wife finally got a hospice bed just four hours before she died.

Denise Lee, Sittingbourne — her father was told there were no beds, then that he wasn’t ill enough. He died three days later.

Harry Snow, aged 13, Rochester — recently lost his mum to brain cancer.

These are not statistics. They are people’s lives.

And every one of you who signed has shown something powerful about this country:

when our most vulnerable are put at risk, we do not just look away. We act.

I truly hope that when we take this petition to No.10, the Prime Minister will receive it in person, meet some of the families behind it, and act on what the public and Parliament are now saying together.

We are less than 9,000 away from 100,000.
