I have always loved Halloween, but every year it's the same story - school gets in the way of fully enjoying this festive day. Instead of planning costumes, carving pumpkins, or even just having sleepovers with friends, we're stuck in classrooms. This is not just my sentiment; many students feel that they could be doing something more enjoyable and meaningful on this holiday.

Halloween is a cultural event celebrated by millions around the world. In fact, according to History.com, it is one of America's oldest holidays and its popularity only continues to grow. Yet despite its widespread celebration, schools remain open on this day.

We believe that making Halloween a no-school day would not only allow students to fully participate in these traditions but also promote creativity and social interaction outside the confines of school walls. It's time we reconsider our academic calendar to accommodate for culturally significant holidays like Halloween.
