As dedicated members, patrons, and visitors, we all share a deep appreciation for our local golf course. Unfortunately, we are currently facing significant barriers that make it difficult to play and enjoy the sport we love. The frequent hosting of daily "taco" tournaments has created an environment where access to the course is exceedingly limited. We find that all the golf carts are perpetually occupied, there are scant open holes, and the course becomes overcrowded with players who, although enjoying the game, are inadvertently hindering others from playing.

The essence and spirit of golf foster respect, courtesy, and consideration for fellow players. However, the current situation at our golf club negates these values. It is a common sight to see players continuing their rounds throughout the day, oblivious to other people's tee times and the frustrations that come with waiting endlessly for a turn. This not only disrupts the flow of the game but also diminishes the quality of the experience that patrons seek when they step on the course.

We propose several solutions to address these concerns effectively. Firstly, we urge the club management to enforce the traditional rules of golf more diligently. This includes regulating play times and ensuring that players adhere to their designated tee times with only four people to a tee box, enabling a smoother rotation for all members. Additionally, we recommend eliminating  or limiting the frequency of daily tournaments. By reducing these events, the course will be more accessible, allowing more members and the public alike to enjoy the game without feeling rushed or obstructed. This will also relieve the strain on resources like golf carts and lessen the overuse of certain facilities, ultimately leading to better maintenance and course longevity.

Furthermore, implementing a more structured scheduling system for tournaments and regular play will offer transparency and prevent overlapping of schedules. Better communication regarding the availability of holes and carts can further enhance the harmony of the course environment.

We believe that taking these steps will not only improve the immediate conditions but also renew a sense of community and enjoyment among members and visitors. Let's bring back the peace and joy that golf is meant to provide.
