Givoogle is a Google alternative that raises money for charity with every search. It differs from Google because on its homepage there is a banner advertisement whose proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

Givoogle was launched June 23, 2009 by Emerson Spartz, founder of Mugglenet.com and Gaby Montero, founder of GivesMeHope.com. In its first month alone, Givoogle raised $1,665.98.

How it works: Advertisers pay Givoogle for every 1000 people who see their banner ad. Then 100% of the proceeds, less operating costs not to exceed nine percent, are donated to the American Cancer Society.

The goal of the American Cancer Society (ACS) is to prevent cancer, save lives, and diminish suffering from cancer. It is a nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.
