I reach out today to ask for a better way to help gambling addiction be solved. I reach out with several ways this could be done with consideration being given from the perspective of an addict, who really has tried all ways to currently possible.

When trying to stop, it becomes a battle. Paperwork, ID, photographs, endless visits to different branches/chains just to try and make sure it becomes difficult.

13,402 premises in the UK with a licence to allow gambling - each as tempting as the last to a problem gambler.
2,417 websites registered within the UK to allow gambling from mobiles, tablets and laptops.
3,565 remote gambling licences.

Whilst already trying to fight an addiction to many that can be hidden easily, you have nearly 20,000 different ways to gambling. All fully legal and open to the public within the UK

That is approximately one fixed odds betting terminal for every 1777 people within the UK.
approx. 36,000 FOBT within the UK.

One suggestion for a solution to be given that would make this addiction manageable for most without having to stop those who are strong enough to fight the addiction...

 Ban all cash bets in the UK. Make all gambling via debit cards (which are available to everyone)

This would solve 3 issues in one:

1. Allow any problem gambling a way to ask their bank to block all payments which are attempted by any registered gambling establishment
2. Stop the laundering of illegally gained money via betting
3. Allow an easier method of problem gamblers being stopped ahead of the addiction ruining their life (Which it does if the addiction takes hold)

If this is not an option let's open the discussion to centralise the process for a problem gambler to be able to self exclude from all premises easily, making hurdles does not help solve addiction.
