I have started this petition in the hopes of changing the law to ensure children in the UK are kept as safe as possible when travelling in a car by rear facing up until a minimum of four years of age.

In the UK, the current law around car seats states that children can be front facing in a car from as young as 9kg in some seats, which is around 9 months old and life threatening in the event of an accident.

Rear facing a child for as long as possible has been proven to be five times safer than front facing.
