My brother is an elderly man showing symptoms of early onset of dementia. His mobility is in decline; he walks very little these days. I am a working individual and it is extremely challenging for me to manage time to physically submit his Food, Nutrition, and Medicaid applications. It's pressing, I am confident we are not the only ones caught in this predicament.

Eastern North Carolina is home to more than 1.4 million people, an overwhelming portion of who are elderly or workers reeling under a similar hardship. The offline process of application for such important aids has caused many of us to fall through the cracks, leaving the needy in our communities at a grim disadvantage.

To address this issue, we urgently need these applications to be made available online. An online application will ensure that no vulnerable individual is left behind due to physical inability or lack of time.

Bringing such services online won't only contribute to our goal of digitalisation but will also immensely help us reduce the systemic inequalities that prevent us from accessing necessary benefits, ultimately helping us move closer to a society that takes care of all of its members, particularly those most in need.
