We, the undersigned, petition California officials to formally recognize Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha as official holidays. With an estimated half a million Muslims in California—roughly 1% of the population—recognizing these holidays reflects the diversity and contributions of our communities. By making Eid official, we foster inclusion, honor all cultures, and strengthen the unity of our state. We urge you to take steps toward establishing these holidays, allowing students and employees to celebrate without barriers.
