Make Dog on Dog attacks a Criminal Offence.

Make Dog on Dog attacks a Criminal Offence.
The Issue
Everyday, we are hearing of more & more dog attacks, on people, livestock & other dogs, this is only a criminal offence, if a person becomes injured, however, if a dog on dog attack ends in serious injury or death of a beloved pet, we are not protected by law, apparently, it’s a civil case.
Listen again, when a much loved companion/pet/support animal/best friend, gets savaged & our World is turned on its head. Fear & anxiety, set in every time there after, when we leave the house, for future walks.
Dog on dog attacks are on the rise & these incidents need to be addressed as criminal offences, apart from the trauma of what we’ve witnessed, the stress & injuries suffered by our beloved pet & the rising cost of Vet fees. Irresponsible owners & dangerously out of control dogs, cannot just walk away from such incidents & leave the devastation of such attacks in their wake.
Dog owners should be responsible, liable & accountable for any such incident, from the minor nips to those incidents of dogs losing their lives…Lets make a noise folks & make this a criminal offence, we are a nation of animal lovers, or so they say, so lets take this all the way, dog owners need to take responsibility for their dogs actions, if your dog appears dangerous or unpredictable around other dogs, muzzle it, keep it on a short lead, have dog insurance or public liability.
Let’s not see any more pets & owners suffer in silence, with no support from law enforcement, dog legislation officers or the dog warden. Let’s show them that our bark is bigger than our bite. (Excuse the pun).
Sign this petition.. to change the law, from a civil case to a criminal case. That way lil dogs like Frank, will not of died in vain, if we can educate owners & make them liable, the World for us & our four legged friends will be a safer, happier place. Justice for Frank… He lost his life after being attacked on a family walk, to his happy place, Barry Island Beach.
